Introducing the Setapp Family Plan: Get More Done Together

You know Setapp, right? It’s a subscription service that gives you unlimited access to over 240 Mac and iOS apps for one low price. It has top-tier apps like Bartender, Craft, Session, Ulysses, and CleanMyMac X.

Setapp is a fantastic option for Apple fans who want to get things done quickly and efficiently on their Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It has productivity apps, creativity apps, and all the utilities you need.

Today, Setapp launched a new Family Plan, and it could save you a whole bunch of money. Allow me to explain.

The Setapp Family Plan

For $19.99 a month, or $215 a year, you and three other people can access the entire Setapp catalog on one Mac and one iOS device each.

With Netflix and Spotify, a family plan means members of your household that live with you. However, if the Fast and Furious movies taught us anything, it’s that family is much more than that.

With a Setapp Family plan, you can invite anyone you want to be a part of your subscription. If you can find three Apple-focused friends or family members who could benefit from a Setapp subscription, you can split the cost and pay $5 a month or $60 a year each.

A single-user Mac and iOS plan costs $12.49 a month or $135 a year. That means you can save up to 50% if you can find some like-minded people to join you on a Setapp Family Plan.

How the Family Plan Works

If you already have a Setapp subscription, you can switch to a Family Plan by logging in at setapp.com and clicking the Subscription tab on your profile. Then, click the “Manage Subscription” button to choose a new plan.

The person who starts the Family Plan is the one who gets billed. So, if you are splitting the cost with other people on the plan, you need to come to some arrangement about how you get their share of the money from them.

Once you have the subscription set up, you can invite family members from your Setapp dashboard by entering their email addresses. Once they click the link in the email, they are part of your plan and have full access to the Setapp app catalog.

What Else You Need to Know

You can add existing Setapp members to your family plan, but they will lose any remaining days on their current plan if you do.

Members can be added and removed whenever you want from your Setapp dashboard. Remember, you are the one paying, so you get to decide who is on the plan.

Family Plan members can choose to switch to their own individual plan if they prefer. They can do that from their profile page at setapp.com.

Lastly, the price of a Setapp Family Plan is fixed. It doesn’t matter whether you have two people on the plan or four people on the plan. The price is the same either way, so the more you add, the more you save.

What Other Setapp Plans Are Available?

If you can’t find enough people to make a family plan worth it, there are plenty of other Setapp subscriptions available to you.

The Mac Plan is for one user and one Mac. It costs $9.99 a month or $107.88 annually. You can try it for free for seven days. And, you can get a 50% discount on this plan if you are a student or faculty member.

If you spend most of your time on an iPhone or iPad, the iOS Plan is for you. It allows for Setapp to be used on two devices.

You can take both of those device allowances for yourself (iPhone and iPad) or share this subscription with a friend so that you can both use it on one device. The iOS plan is $4.99 a month or $53.89 a year.

For the best of both worlds, the Mac & iOS Plan gives you access to Setapp on one Mac and up to four iOS devices for $12.49 a month or $134.88 annually.

Are you a power user? Then try the Power User Plan! For $14.99 a month or $161.88 a year, you can use Setapp on four Macs and four iOS devices.

Conclusion

The Family Plan is a welcome addition to the Setapp lineup. It gives you a lot of flexibility and offers great value for money if you have siblings or friends who are willing to split the cost.
